Mumbai, 27 February 2026: Sanjay Pandey, President of Nanaji Deshmukh Pratishthan, and Vaibhav Raje, Director of ATCA, informed that the recommendations emerging from the brainstorming sessions of the International Arboriculture Conference — which imparts scientific methods for the conservation of urban trees — will be forwarded to the Central and State Governments for policy formulation.
The Second International Arboriculture (Tree Conservation) Conference is being organized at Hotel Sahara Star, Vile Parle (East), Mumbai, from 6 March to 8 March 2026.

Dignitaries in urban planning and arboriculture experts from around the world will participate in this conference in the esteemed presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Environment Minister Pankaja Munde.
Tree Conservation is the Need of the Hour
Addressing the press conference about this event, Sanjay Pandey, President of Nanaji Deshmukh Pratishthan, said: “Along with planting new trees in cities, conserving existing trees is the need of the hour. Through this conference, the scientific technology of arboriculture will reach the level of policy-making, giving a green edge to urban development.”
Pandey clarified that State Environment Minister Pankaja Munde will inaugurate the conference, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will preside over the closing ceremony.
Also present at the press conference were Aryan Pandey, CEO of Nanaji Deshmukh Pratishthan, and Nakul Sawani, Director of ATCA.

Global Experts to Visit Mumbai
Renowned experts working in the field of arboriculture across the globe will visit Mumbai for this conference. Municipal corporations from across the state and country, airport developers, and real estate entrepreneurs will also participate.
International experts participating in the conference include Carl Dalla Riva (Director, Board of Arboriculture, Australia), Dan Lambe (CEO, Arbor Day Foundation, USA), and Jessica Sanders (Executive Director, Sacramento Tree Foundation, USA). National experts include Dr. Sangram Chavan (Senior Scientist, National Institute of Abiotic Stress Management, Baramati), Dr. Prachi Gupta (Professor, Azim Premji University, Bengaluru), Vyom Bhatt (Co-founder, Shroomsabha), and Architect Shilpa Gavane (Founder, Trees of Ahmedabad).
Need for Arboriculture Impact Survey
Vaibhav Raje, Director of ATCA, said: “The limited meaning of arboriculture is tree planting. While advancing development projects, we have environmental and social surveys, but an Arboriculture Impact Survey is necessary for the conservation of existing trees. In Western countries, no project moves forward without such a survey. Major policy-level changes will need to be made to green the development of our cities.”
