निफाड तालुका कृती दल समितीवर एनजीओ प्रतिनिधी म्हणून नियुक्ती
निफाड (नाशिक), दि. २७ मार्च २०२६ : पतीच्या निधनानंतर एकट्याने संसाराचा भार सांभाळत, मुलाचे शिक्षण आणि आरोग्य क्षेत्रातील सेवा एकाच वेळी निभावणाऱ्या श्रीमती सोनिया अभिजित गायकवाड यांना पंचायत समिती निफाडच्या तालुका स्तरीय “माझं गाव, आरोग्य संपन्न गाव” कृती दल समितीवर एनजीओ प्रतिनिधी म्हणून नियुक्ती मिळाली आहे. महाराष्ट्र शासनाच्या सार्वजनिक आरोग्य विभागाच्या शासन निर्णय क्र./आ.वि./२०२५/क्र.२८ अन्वये ही समिती गठित करण्यात आली असून दि. २७ मार्च २०२६ रोजी जारी करण्यात आलेल्या पंचायत समिती निफाडच्या अधिकृत पत्रान्वये त्यांच्या नावाचा समावेश करण्यात आला आहे.
प्रतिकूलतेशी झुंज, सेवेची कास
सोनिया गायकवाड यांचे जीवन म्हणजे केवळ संघर्षाची कहाणी नाही — ती एका स्त्रीच्या अदम्य इच्छाशक्तीची, बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांच्या विचारांची आणि महिला सक्षमीकरणाच्या व्रताची साक्ष आहे. पती अभिजित गायकवाड यांच्या अकाली निधनानंतर त्यांच्यासमोर दुहेरी आव्हान उभे राहिले — एकीकडे एकुलत्या एक पुत्र पुरव गायकवाड याचे संगोपन व शिक्षण, आणि दुसरीकडे निफाड तालुक्यातील ग्रामीण जनतेच्या आरोग्यासाठी सुरू असलेली निस्वार्थ सेवा.
परंतु सोनिया गायकवाड यांनी हार मानली नाही. डॉ. बाबासाहेब आंबेडकरांचा “शिका, संघटित व्हा, संघर्ष करा” हा मंत्र आणि महिला सक्षमीकरणाचे व्रत छातीशी कवटाळून त्यांनी स्वयंसेवी संस्थेच्या माध्यमातून ग्रामीण आरोग्य कार्यात आपले योगदान अविरतपणे सुरू ठेवले.
शासनमान्यता — संघर्षाचे फलित
आज त्यांच्या या अथक परिश्रमाची दखल शासनाने घेतली आहे. पंचायत समिती निफाडच्या तालुका आरोग्य अधिकारी (गट-अ) आणि गट विकास अधिकारी यांनी संयुक्तपणे जारी केलेल्या पत्रात त्यांची “एनजीओ प्रतिनिधी” म्हणून नेमणुक करण्यात आला आहे. या समितीत गट विकास अधिकारी (अध्यक्ष), वैद्यकीय अधिकारी (सह अध्यक्ष), तसेच विविध विभागांचे अधिकारी सदस्य म्हणून आहेत. या उच्चस्तरीय यंत्रणेत एनजीओ प्रतिनिधी म्हणून स्थान मिळणे हे ग्रामीण पातळीवर काम करणाऱ्या कार्यकर्त्यांसाठी एक महत्त्वाचा आदर्श आहे.
प्रेरणेचा दीपस्तंभ
एकट्या आईने मुलाला घडवत, समाजाला आरोग्याचा मार्ग दाखवत केलेली ही वाटचाल निफाड तालुक्यातील असंख्य महिलांसाठी प्रेरणेचा स्रोत बनली आहे. बाबासाहेबांच्या विचारांनी प्रेरित होऊन त्यांनी सिद्ध केले आहे की संकटे माणसाला खचवत नाहीत, उलट योग्य विचारधारेच्या बळावर माणूस उंच भरारी घेऊ शकतो.

Niphad (Nashik), March 27, 2026: After losing her husband and shouldering the entire burden of her household alone — raising her son, managing family responsibilities, and simultaneously serving rural communities in the health sector — Smt. Sonia Abhijeet Gaikwad has been appointed as the NGO Representative on the Taluka-Level “Maza Gaon, Arogya Sampann Gaon” (My Village, Health-Rich Village) Kruti Dal Samiti under Panchayat Samiti Niphad. The committee has been constituted under Maharashtra Government’s Public Health Department Resolution No./A.Vi./2025/Cr.28, and her name has been officially included through a letter issued by Panchayat Samiti Niphad dated March 27, 2026.
Fighting Adversity, Choosing Service
The life of Sonia Gaikwad is not merely a story of struggle — it is a living testament to an extraordinary woman’s indomitable willpower, her commitment to the ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, and her unwavering vow of women’s empowerment. After the untimely passing of her husband Abhijeet Gaikwad, she faced a twin challenge: on one side, the upbringing and education of her only son Purav Gaikwad, and on the other, her tireless voluntary service towards the health and welfare of rural communities in the Niphad taluka.
Yet Sonia Gaikwad refused to give up. Holding close Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s clarion call — “Educate, Organise, Agitate” — and carrying the torch of women’s empowerment, she continued her contributions to rural health work through her NGO, without pause or complaint.
Government Recognition — The Fruit of Her Struggle
Today, the government has taken formal note of her relentless efforts. The official letter jointly issued by the Taluka Health Officer (Group-A) and the Block Development Officer of Panchayat Samiti Niphad records her designation as “NGO Representative” on this committee. The committee includes the Block Development Officer as Chairperson, the Medical Officer as Co-Chairperson, and senior officials from various departments as members. Securing a seat as the sole NGO representative in this high-level administrative body is a landmark recognition — and a powerful model for grassroots workers across Maharashtra.

A single mother who raised her son with dignity while lighting the path of good health for an entire taluka — Sonia Gaikwad’s journey has become a source of inspiration for countless women in Niphad and beyond. Guided by the philosophy of Babasaheb Ambedkar, she has demonstrated that hardship does not break a person of conviction — on the contrary, the right ideological strength can propel one to extraordinary heights.
