Its theme is “Marathwada as an Agriculture Growth Engine \u2014 From Potential to Progress.”
Liberation day, self-reliance agenda
The date is deliberate. On September 17, 1948, Marathwada was freed from the Nizam’s rule and joined the Indian Union. Seventy-eight years on, the conclave seeks to carry that legacy forward from commemoration to economic self-reliance, under the mission statement “Towards a Self-Reliant Marathwada 2047.”
Focus on the region’s left-behind pockets
Marathwada’s eight districts account for a substantial share of the state’s cotton, soybean, tur, sweet lime and dairy output, yet most of it leaves the region in raw form. Organisers argue that value addition, processing units and organised sourcing chains closer to the farm gate are where employment and rural incomes will be created. Youth, women and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) from drought-prone and underdeveloped talukas will be given priority on the platform.
“Marathwada has never lacked potential \u2014 it has lacked access. A young man in a remote taluka has the idea, the farmer has the produce; what does not reach them is capital, technology and a market. UDYAM exists to open those three doors for entrepreneurs from the region’s most neglected pockets. Employment will be created here only when Marathwada’s produce stops leaving as raw material,” said Umesh Kamble, Secretary General, CASMB.
Six focus tracks
The day-long programme is built around six tracks: agriculture growth engine, agri-input ecosystem, animal health and allied value chains, sustainable sourcing, women empowerment and youth empowerment.
From Parbhani to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
The conclave follows the strong response to UDYAM held on July 18, 2026, at Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. “We mark Mukti Sangram Din with pride every year, but real liberation comes from economic self-reliance. Bringing foundations, academic institutions and industry onto one platform to direct investment into Marathwada is the concrete objective of this conclave. After Parbhani, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is the second step, and we intend to take this mission across all of Marathwada,” Kamble said.
Participation
Entrepreneurs and startup founders, women entrepreneurs, youth and students, FPOs and farmers, agri-businesses, industry, academia, policymakers, institutions and media. A dedicated session for direct dialogue between entrepreneurs and policymakers is part of the programme.
Expected outcomes
Visibility and market access for regional entrepreneurs, startups and women-led enterprises; new employment pathways for youth and women; investment focus on agri-inputs, animal health and allied sectors; and a replicable model for district-level enterprise development across Marathwada.
Collaborating institutions: MIT CSN, NAAM Foundation, Krishi Vivek, UDCT Alumni Association (Marathwada Chapter) and AFSTI, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Chapter.
For partnership
