A statue stands on the same street, and a theatre bearing his name sits by the riverside. Nearly 2.7 million tourists visit this village every year from across the world. One day he was writing something in his notebook. He said they were required to write a medical essay every week, and good marks came only if it was written in Shakespeare&#8217;s style. Yet the British have not named universities, statues, streets, or even schools after him in any significant way.
